In May 1881, the promotors of Long Beach built a lage pavillion, bathing houses and several cottages.
The Marine Rail Road was also up and running.
In August 1881 the new Pavillion of Point Lookout was built by Hotel Contractor, James H.L'Hommedieu. Oscar Wild was also a visitor.
